Alcanman
Superb work Psiborg, you have a great eye for detail. I've always thought wagon works are a great subject for a layout. Martyn. I agree. Great work. A wagon repair depot is ideal for a small modern image layout enabling short trains and a variety of wagon types to be used. I built a version of Tees Yard WRD a couple of years ago and seeing your layout has inspired me to think about building another WRD. Mal

Psiborg
STOCK - DB CLASS 66 This is the standard weathered release of 66101 by Bachmann but now fitted with LegomanBiffo sound and a Bass enhanced speaker. Psiborg
STOCK - DB CLASS 60 This is a lightly weathered version of the Hornby model also now with LegomanBiffo sound and Bass enhanced speaker fitted. (also another rubbish photo - my phone really doesn't like DB red!) Psiborg Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos
Psiborg
STOCK - DB CLASS 08 This is a Bachmann model still requiring weathering. It now has sound, with a Zimo chip (containing Paul Chetter's sound project) and sugar cube speaker and was installed by Digitrains and is, in my opinion, the best Class 08 sound available so far! Digitrains also fitted a 'stay alive' capacitor that I have timed to last over 90 seconds if the loco is static with sound on and if the loco is moving with sound on will still move for over 30 seconds! That must be enough for any dirty track!!! Psiborg Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos
Alcanman
Nice locos. Coincidentally, I also have 60007 fitted with Legomanbiffo sound. Just been giving the loco a little run this morning, I'd forgotten how good it sounds. My camera also doesn't like DB red! May I ask if your point levers are dummy and what brand they are? They look great. Mal

Psiborg
FOOTBRIDGE The scenic break is to be via a footbridge. The effect I am aiming for I similar to the footbridge and overhanging trees at Oakham adjacent to the level crossing. The footbridge is a modified version of the Hornby R076 footbridge. I have altered it so one set of steps head straight down and the other set is at an angle Here it is painted similarly to the Oakham one... Looking at it these colours made it stand out too much to me. I wanted it to be more of a background feature so I sprayed it with grey and black primer and now it looks like this... Psiborg
TRACK WEATHERING Last weekend Matt came over with his airbrush and weathered the track. It's the third layout Matt has airbrushed for me and he's done another excellent job. He applied a spray of Phoenix Precision Paints P991 Matt Track Dirt followed by P981 Matt Dirty Black Simon Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos

Thanks, Matt did another good job of weathering! I was going to fit a DB sign, the same size as the EWS one, on the front of the Portakabin. I decided to use a small "DB Schenker" sign with a "Shunters Cabin" sign below it instead. The DB sign did get used though - one became the mouse mat on the desk inside! Perfect Paul
I've heard from someone that you have even made a model of an electric kettle, and that it is sitting proudly on the desk inside the portakabin. Any chance of a photo ?

There is a kettle on the table at the right hand end of the Portakabin, unfortunately, due to the lighting, it's difficult to get a decent picture with my phone's camera. Here's the best I can get with the Portakabin lights turned off... Simon Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos

Psiborg
NEW PEOPLE Another job I have done now that the track weathering is complete, is add figures to the footpath. The new figures are... Gran waiting for her granddaughter to catch up while on their way home... Man and woman on their way back from the shops... A man thinking about his next model railway while his wife catches up with him on the footbridge... Another figure I've added is a man talking to the wheel-set delivery driver Simon Edited May 23, 2022 by Psiborg reload photos
