Stubby47's buildings and other modelling

Recommended Posts

I've been meaning to start this thread for some time, mainly to keep an online collection of the various buildings I've made both for myself and for other modellers.

As the thread grows, I'll add more info about the new models I'm making.

This first post will be an index to the various models.

Buckingham Station Train Shed

Halwill Junction Station building

Just reading about the North Cornwall Railway, and, therefore, about Halwill Junction.  Although the stone stations of the NCR down to Padstow are very attractive, there is also something to be said for these earlier, and much plainer, Devon & Cornwall Railway station buildings, and I don't recall seeing one modelled before, so particularly liked seeing your excellent rendition.

As station buildings go, it is plain, but still has its little nuances that rise it above just a plain box. One door is a different height, the toilet block at the end is not symmetrical and the overall paint scheme changes through the years.

Please have a look, any feedback is welcome

The 'S' in the footer logo is less prominent than the other letters so you shall, henceforth, be known as tubby47.

Nice work!

Nice design, Stu. I think you've found a good balance between on the one hand showing the quality of your work, yet on the other hand not "overstyling" it. That sort of thing makes me feel confident as a customer.

Nice bit of humour too: The weathering can be "as extreme as you like", followed by that photo :)

We seem to be missing dioramas of small, dirty rooms. Does this signify a change in artistic period? The end of his loo period?

I think you'll find at least 2 photos of the BCB entry for this category.

However, I will add the website is not complete, there are several more models to add, plus an 'Inspiration' section.

I do thank you for your feedback, much appreciated.

Nice work!

The 'S' has hopefully been sorted, plus the fledgling Inspiration page added.

Still need to add the 'Gentleman's Restroom' images though - thanks for the reminder  :good:
