RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted July 28, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 28, 2017 As the aerial photo shows, there is quite a sharp curve coming into Franca. So surprising that a train would be travelling fast enough to have been unable to stop before the buffers.
Edwin_m
It must have come round the curve within or somewhat above the permitted speed but for whatever reason failed to brake for the platforms. As at Cannon Street (albeit with much older stock) a buffer stop collision at relatively low speed can cause a lot of injuries, though mostly minor, as people are standing up to alight.
