Show off 😂

It was probably for saying something contentious rather than any great artistic achievement.

Or the pictures of Miss R making offensive gestures....

I meant to ask ages ago Chris, what are you using for the sand boxes? I was going to see what I could get from Wizard / MT or similar and make wire pipes. If picked up some brass rid for brake rigging.

Now that I have proved the modified Hornby chassis, I've bought a new motor and pick ups for it too.

….not that you can really see the rods when it’s right side up

I’ll fit the sandbox pipes tomorrow as I’ve given them a coat of paint

That's done it.

I've got the memsahib kick-starting the coffee maker and I'm setting out the Bench of Bodge.

Thank you for the motivation!

I’ve just used the same 0.45mm brass wire I used for the handrails so nothing fancy

Nothing like a bit of friendly rivalry to get the old creative juices flowing.

Bring it on that's what I say.

I take it that you have used the sand boxes salvaged from I GWR 0-6-0? I was going to get some white metal ones or take them off a dead Airfix 14XX.

I cheated, they part of the printed chassis

Or the headshunt?

Read that as head fart which, to be fair, is an accurate appraisal of my grey cells this morning.

By the way, can I add that it is splendid to see this thread leaping into life again.

Very top stuff.

Hi, please could I ask how you achieved the print?

the raw parts looked like resin - is that what you are using?

(I did look back but the picture of your printer is still awaiting restore but I see you’ve also used shapeways too)

The few pics of shapeways bodies I’ve seen tend to have very fine deposition stratification lines but this odd very crisp!

Did it need much cleaning up?

 Simon

(less of an engineer than I’d like to be)

Hi Simon

It was printed using an Anycubic Photon Mono SLA resin Printer

I don't use Shapeways anymore due to their daylight robbery constant unjustified price increases and their extortionate high postage costs since Brexit it was cheaper to buy my own printer

You can (and sometimes do) still get visible layer lines but they tend to be less noticeable
