cornamuse
Hi guys- apologies for a dual posting, but I thought this might interest... I’m building in card, only cheap wheels and motors purchased, using card even for the running gear. All very basic, but looks ok and gets you running for minimum outlay - or a few extra wagons on a hurry! The thread is running here, if you want to know more! http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/133008-g-scale-tin-turtle-rolling-stock-in-card/ 5
cornamuse
Latest card loco, on a nice wooden chassis from Houston Gate, using locoremote gubbins. Based on Corris no 5 fimo figure, as usual, with a working fan from a computer. Not really scale, but will look ok trundling along! 5
cornamuse
And a Corris 2 plank open wagon, again card, with wheels from swift sixteen. First GW wagon ever, after 50 years despite dad still being a lover of all things Western, and being brought up on green locos… rivets are self adhesive rhinestones. I bet Brunel is spinning at generating speeds!
Johann Marsbar
Those Houston Gate chassis are rather useful, having used them as both 4-wheel loco chassis or as motor bogies to power kitbashed Bachmann passenger cars. They are a rather competitive price as well!
cornamuse
A few of the back catalogue, focusing on the card models…. powered chassis by Phil Sharples and IP engineering- both excellent suppliers- I have a fair amount of their products on my shelves! Tin turtle and small England loco have sounds too, thanks to locoremote units. The semi closed workmen s coach is a kit. 3
cornamuse
Some of the kits - there are lots of slate wagons about, from various sources, too. first loco is Phil Sharples, messed about with by me, second is using his lister parts and a chassis of his to do a 45mm gauge bodge. The local home guard seem happy enough with it! 5
cornamuse
Latest venture; Corris guard’s van. interior a little conjectural, but then most of my models are. Going with the GWR look again. Guard with ‘I love mum’ mug as usual. Maybe I should start mixing it up a little bit with the mugs! bacon and eggs on the stove, of course! wheels, buffers and a roof, next!
cornamuse
Finally, some progress to show.. the Corris brake van is now finished, with it’s mini Corris train. The steam locos are a bit beyond me… and the layout has a basic sky and some neat sheeting to hide the cupboards and junk. Lightens the room up, too. 4
cornamuse
This shows the current extent, and how much the skirts help and here is a closer view of the castle and beginnings of the port. Might be a while before the 1 o’clock gun fires from here! 3
cornamuse
So… we now have most of the harbour; cliffs and rock pools at the other end. It’s about 6ftx1ft and nicely dwarfs the rolling stock. The tide will be out, with just a few fishing boats lying drunkenly waiting for the water.. you don’t get much railway for your space, but boy does it feel real. I want a recording of seagulls and some ozone aftershave :D
cornamuse
The stone wall finally finished. That was supposed to be easier than a wooden fence. Yeah. Right. also we have Ronnie and Reggie on the lookout for chips
