So several things happened before Christmas. And then Christmas presents. So let's start in order

Cranford is just about complete. Requiring just a driver and fireman to be added and then varnishing and coal adding. The headboards are magnetic meaning they can be switched accordingly.

Next. The janus have been breeding again. Their are ten now... with a silver cab janus joining the more modern fleet.

And finally to Christmas. I've been gifted a set of pta wagons by my partner in the Welsh livery. Oh dear. I feel a dock layout calling me...

So the pipe bridge stumped me for some time.

But then i came up with another idea.

A conveyor running across the entrance. Ill still need to do a little more work of course, including the other supports. But id like peoples opinions so far?

I'm loving the the look of this.

I've only been to Scunthorpe once, to the rail rolling mill which was very impressive. But I've had quite a few trips to Port Talbot recently (with work) and I think you've captured the feel really well.

A bit more dust and grime everywhere would tone down some of the brick buildings.

Excellent work!

My Welsh experiences make me think you need a Brush-Bagnall Bo-Bo instead of another Janus ;-)

Thanks for the opinions mol. I'm still considering some more filth and dirt about the place butni don't want it to be too dirty. As I want it to be a recently built part of the works.

Leading from your last point. The brush bagnals never made it to scunthorpe. But we did have 50-60 janus. However that being said I am extatic to see that hopefully we will soon have torpedos and hunslet locomotives from KR models if they get enough expressions of interests. Which will be a perfect addition to the layout.

I'm also pleased to say I've acquired a walthers blast furnace , so that's the first layout extension sorted ! As well as my "tug" boat for the dockside layout I hope to build in time (and with more space ).

I've recently injured my leg so I've had to go 2 weeks so far without touching the layout or any modelling. Let's hope I can get back to it in time.

Before injuring my leg i did pull these two out and are currently acting as supply steam shunters for the late steam period, with the idea that the site are low on locomotives

Another update for you all

The cranford model is now pretty much complete.

2 accurascale wagons arrived however have had to be returned. Hopefully when the replacements arrive I'll be able to get some photos.

Some more wagon loads have arrived in the form of billet stock this time for use on the flat wagons.

The sentinels have been dragged out for a while.

The more modern janus is having some trail flashing cab lights fitted. Hopefully more on this later.

The 22 Hornby model has again caused issues. The chassis seems to be nothing but trouble. I've now found that a screw holding the pickups is pushing on the bearing housing and bearing. It really feels as if the austerity chassis has had its day.

A few general photos in and around the layout including one of the new wagon loads.

Also just arrived is a hybar shock wagons. These were used at the end of steam/diesel period to move small wire rod coils around the country from Normanby park.

2 more additions to the janus fleet, and most of all No1 being the most important.

The real life preserved loco at the Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society  finally exists in model form .

The second still currently numbered as No5 is for working with the modern era 2015+ fleet.

So today 47445 has been back in the workshops of the living room...

A crew have been added and the additional Avonside sandbox the origional locomitive was fitted with under peppers ownership (thankyou Railway Mania where this part is available) and finally some weathering removed on one side.

The reason? The brilliant news that the Midland Railway - Butterley have started overhaul work on the real 47445. I cannot wait to see her and her orange tanks in real life !

Summer stop period begins. The steel wagons and scrap are moved out and spares, repairs and replacement item wagons move in. With the preserved narrow gauge steam locomotive getting in on the action.

So I've been busy at scunthorpe again. But we did attend the great electric train show.

We have the real life cranford on a brake van tour, a view of the blast furnaces.

The latest wagon I've purchased which exist at scunthorpe but have been modified.

And an upside down P class....

ALSO. WHY THE HELL ARE SOME PHOTO ROTATING UPSIDE DOWN WHEN LOADED. AND I CANT FLIP THEM NO MATTER WHAT I DO
