For information about modern passenger train formations throughout central Europe I'd recommend vagonWEB - it has all sorts of useful information about train compositions over time and you can search for particular coach types to find what sorts of trains they are/were used in.  For anyone wanting to model prototypical train formations it is a fantastic resource.
