Bachmann Class 20 DRS

I’ve also been trying to establish which 20/3s had the logos on the central doors. I’m fairly sure that 20 301-5 were central and 20 306 upwards were offset towards the cab end.

This site has a good selection of images that seems to confirm this but I’m sure there could be an exception to this.

I’ve  now converted my six 20/3s with working marker lights at the cab end using the method shown by SouthernMafia earlier but using these SMD LED’s, the wires are very fine and a devil to work with but they do leave the cab mostly clear of wires etc.

Bachmann 20/3 body fitted to an original 20/0 chassis worked rather well.  Just need to wire in the lights (but that can wait until I get a decoder fitted and add the missing marker light)

Was this an easy match to the old Class 20 chassis or does it require some butchering to make it work?

Just need to loose the inner lighting board and cut off its two mounting screws.

Turning my spare Body into a non powered run with any DRS Loco using a spare early example Chassis. Try as I might I've hacked away at the front of the Chassis bock to clear the Front lighting but I still cannot get the Dam thing to fit. Looks like removal of the front lighting may be the only way. Shame as I was hoping to keep it.

I have done the same with a replacement body on the old chassis. As it will only ever run paired with another 20 or 37, I removed the lighting unit as it will never be used and the body fits a treat.

For those wanting to have marker lights fitted to their 20/3 models, I highly recommend Track3D's services. I sent my body away and Chandler fitted the missing lights in no time at all. Absolutely gorgeous results!
