1977joey
Hi Everyone, So we rewind to February 1986, & shiny new Class 150/1 Sprinter's are seen on test from Derby Etches Park. Seen on the centre road & then making it's departure for a run to Machynlleth, then to Aberystwyth is 150135 These will replace the First generation sets on all Cambrian line services & some services towards Chester, Crewe & Wolverhampton. These are actually my all new 150/1's which will replace the one's I had repainted years ago which I will be selling off. I will be renumbering 3 of them & also painting the interior to reflect the red/blue stripy seats that the 150's had when new, they definitely weren't grey. Something to do on my next early shifts. Its been an expensive month as I have also acquired some Mark 2a's in Regional Railways livery which I will rebrand 'Transpennine' as these were often in some of the Holyhead-Cardiff formations, the lower grey band not being totally correct for the Transpennine livery but for me in N gauge, it'll do... Lots to do, Cheers for now, Mark Edited April 13, 2022 by 1977joey
1977joey
Finally got my Sprinter fleet sorted for Shrewford with the new Provincial liveried Class 150/1s arriving. After hard saving plus selling the repainted ones I had done some years ago. I've renumbered most & repainted the interiors to reflect the red stripey seats they originally had years ago. I did think about adding the black/blue stripes, but for how tiny they are & for what you can see through the windows, i didn't feel it was worth it, but the grey moulded plastic seat look has gone... Here's some pics, from right to left, 150103, 150117, 150127, 150135, 150148, 150269 & finally 150247 Finally a look at the interiors with the body shells back in place Cheers for now, Mark

It will be cleaned & watered ready for to work the 1355 to Birmingham New Street later & is then seen making its manoeuvre into the holding sidings to come to a rest in front of a Railfreight Class 47 The 1300 InterCity arrival from London Euston to Shrewford approaches it's destination hauled by 50040 due to the unavailability of the usual 47, a treat for hoover fans. To be honest I haven't a clue, the passenger stuff I had a mate who I worked with (Who's now retired) who let me copy his old BR timetables from 86 till 89 for what I've botched together for Shrewford. Regarding the TPO though I really don't know, I run mine at random. Sure someone on the forum might be able to help with that.. Cheers, Mark

1977joey
Afternoon Everyone, A little sesh on the layout earlier... In the bay platforms, 150269 is at the blocks at Platform 5 having not long arrived on a stopper from Cardiff, 150103 is at the rear of a 5 car formation with the 1450 service to Barmouth, Ex Birmingham New Street.. 150148 is the leading unit of this 5 car Sprinter Next on a test run at Shrewford is brand new 156509, a model I couldn't resist (I know not my area, but it could appear after a visit to the works ;) ) The unit arrives at Platform 4 then will stable in the holding sidings before heading to Crewe later The livery is very crisp, I will sort out the BR arrows at each end as I've a few black one's on a fox transfers sheet to correct the one's on the model that are the wrong way round. I'm hoping Dapol release these in Provincial livery again as I'd like a couple for my Cardiff-Manchester services The 150 lash up departs right time at 1450 for Barmouth Next Banger Blue 47096 is on the approach to Platform 4 with the 1459 InterCity service from London Euston, Terminating here Cheers for now, Mark
jonas
Not sure when Dapol will release provincial 156s again but I did spot a RR 153 in the cabinet at Hereford Model Shop if it’s of interest!

Many thanks for that info Jonas. My layout is set pretty much before the 153's came into service, though if Dapol had have done the original Cardiff based 155's I'd have had a couple. I'll hold out for a couple of provincial 156's if they do them eventually, I'm hoping they might as it would compliment they're Strathclyde 156 of the same era & the forthcoming Farish Regional Railways Class 158, so fingers crossed...
