AD99AF86-C4A3-4283-9BD4-852B69B885B1.jpeg.d3c6f005efbbb467eeba5b4edf8aef4b.jpegI’ve now purchased, built, and finished my LMS express fish van, and am very happy with it.  The dummy centre wheelset is barely noticeable on Peco medium radius turnouts, and the kit fell together square and true.  Runs very well, and being a van presents no problems wit ballasting.  I haven’t propelled it with the long CCT yet, though!

If only I could find some express fish to load it with…

A 4mm version of this might be worth considering?

In 4mm the Dia O34 with the straight-down L-section side members and sack-truck door would be more welcome.

The earlier 'Open C' versions are covered by the Ratio kit.

Whilst this kit is of its time it is not bad and can be improved/altered to most earlier versions.

If you can find one now that they are out of production, and there were supposedly only 1500 made in the first place.

Besides, the FIVE79 version would be a superior kit.

NEWS.. Kind of....

There are currently no news updates on the NER/LNER CCT's but they are reaching the top of the list, in between all the other projects and NEW products we are currently working on.

We are currently working on tooling for a new 4mm standard gauge wagon and will be the next release from us all going well. Followed by another 009 kit. We have a large list of possible new kits in various scales and gauges.

Mr Finelines himself, is currently working on various projects for his own model railway and is trying out new technologies, which could enter service within Chivers Finelines itself.

All the best,

Matt Chivers

LMS sole wagon? Given I am just about start scratchbuilding one😀.

Have at least one of every standard gauge wagon in your range and they are all wonderful. So very happy to see the range being increased

Matt, if you stopped beggaring about with that honking great lump of iron in the workshop and concentrated on the 4mm kits?!!

Haha, well the good news is the big lumps of iron are on hold at the moment, I've got a full schedule on the kits so no free time to play, I mean build the steam engine!

Sorry Eric, I should have  given you the heads up. I came back from a long weekend away and just put my head down and got them done. I'm hoping to be able to keep them in stock now.

I will put your suggestion into the mix 👍.

Oh yes we will be expanding the range, I'm getting a full on intense apprenticeship from the man himself.

In that case please remember the Thompson 6-wheel BZ brake that the 'man' intended after the D.120 pigeon van !!!
