Vinalopo valley

Yesterday we had a day trip to Novelda followed by a trip to a Bodega outside Villena (Elda) in the Vinalopo valley, Alicante province.

 

There are RENFE local services through Novelda from Alicante, as well as the high speed line through to Madrid.

 

These photos were taken from the Mary Madgeline church standing above Novelda looking down on the valley. The church was built from @1940 and finished in the 1960'sthe design is inspired by Gaudi.

 

This RENFE train had left Novelda and its next station would be at Elda where there is a passing loop. Strangely this train (and about 10 minutes later) the next, seemed to stop at the same location. Looking on Google earth I cant see a station there.
