I dunno, one of those short 4 wheel container flats? I'd tag Paul Bartlett, but I don't know how to do it

The containers (there are at least two of them) appear to have ISO mountings, although they are unusual in having side doors. I think they are 20' containers though the angle of the photo may be misleading.

From the spacing of the containers (i.e. not next to each other, but with a moderate-sized gap between them) I am assuming they are each on a 4-wheel wagon, but that may be wrong.

The wagons they're on must have a lowish floor. Might possibly be Conflat ISO? I'm assuming the train is vacuum-braked by the SR van, but I may be wrong.

If air-braked wagons are possible then maybe they are the short PFAs? https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/cawoodcontainer

To tag Paul, you start typing @hmrspaul, and it should give you a list of usernames to click on. Then it comes out like this:

Its a decade before Cawoods are made. And I agree it will be VB.

The FBB were vacpiped but I agree quite possibly on a Conflat ISO or even a pair on Rectank conflat. I've no idea what the containers are but to me they appear to be 10ft square and insulated. There were/are many different containers - Purely as an aside look at this complete with the bonded designation CLV and doors on one side only https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/brfreightlinercontainer/e1cc1be58

Never realised the cl.111 DMUs got that far south, I'd always thought they were pretty much Yorks/Lancs units.

Four 3-car units were allocated to Stratford from 12/1968 until late-1970.

See under 'Stratford' at: https://railcar.co.uk/type/class-111/operations (includes same photo posted above).

Also, notice the DMU has a blue centre car

Does anyone recognise where this is?

The caption says - "New Ross". So I would assume it's the (now former) level crossing at MP103 on the approach to New Ross.

Enchanting enough in themselves, but when you realise this line was a part of British Railways, I think they're mind blowing.

Thanks, I've found a Flickr album of the Nantlle Tramway by trainsandtravel

Done that on an ADL tour to Poland 20 years ago - Though this was a photo runpast so most people were standing in the field rather than standing in the wagons....
