RMweb Premium rab Posted January 8, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 8, 2022 I have a fairly intricate card model which I scratch built, and as a first attempt its not bad, but, the more I look at it, the more I think I'd like to have another go at it. i did the first one by drawing up the sections on CAD, printing them on paper, sticking the paper to card. then cutting through the printed shapes. (I could probably have printed direct onto the card, but wasn't sure if my printer would cope with the thickness of card and didn't want to mess it up trying) I have since found out about the Silhouette Cutter, and am very tempted to invest in one for the 'rebuild'. One thing I would like to check is, will it cut acute internal angles, (around 30 deg) along the lines of diagonal bracing on electricity pylons? agt613
I am pretty sure it will. You can cut very tight spaces with one. Anyway, all that might spoil is a sheet of card or plasticard so have a go. I have made a 00 scale coach bogie with one and it has very tight corners on the end of the springs.
