keithboddey
Backmann 37 with factory sound purchased 11 years ago. I haven't used this for 5 years (while I concentrated on N Gauge) The Sound had gone ! I stripped it down to investigate... Its now totally dead !! If I put 12 volts on the motor outlets it moves. Has the panel died?
KeithM
Has anybody have an answer to this, my 37 is the same if I apply power direct to the motor it turns checked pick ups etc and all fine problem seems to be with the PCB...? oh and it is dc only no chip Thanks
andyman7
The first post says 'factory sound' which would mean DCC fitted, but the post above says DC only, no chip so I am assuming it has been removed at some point. The first very basic question would be to ask whether a blanking plug has been fitted in place of where the decoder was? Assuming this is the case, ideally you want to use a multimeter and check continuity from each of the pickups to the motor to try and isolate where the loss of connection is. KeithM
Thanks All will try and isolate PCB and see how I get on.
