RMweb Premium 7013 Posted January 24, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 24, 2022 It is with great sadness we have to announce that after more than 40 years Banbury and District Model Railway Club will be closing its door for the last time at the end of July 2022. Sadly membership has fallen over the last few years and we cannot sustain the club under current circumstances. We have a substantial collection of books, stock and tools/equipment for disposal that we will catalogue and display on our Facebook site shortly along with contact details. We would like to thank everyone who has supported the club over the years.
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted January 24, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 24, 2022 Sorry to hear that and it's always sad when any club or organisation has to close. Our attendance at the clubrooms is still well down on our before covid numbers but out of around 65 invitations sent out earlier this month, I'm pleased to say that already half have renewed their membership even if they aren't making use of the clubroom. We are in the very fortunate position of owning the clubroom and although we don't have the additional liability of rent to pay, we are actively looking for ideas about how to replace the building for something more suitable. .
