Caledonian123
I have a Hornby B12 from 2008 that is running very poorly since as you can see from the photo, has worn through its wheel pickups. Looking at the service sheet 218C, new pickups are part number X8619. I have looked these up on Peters Spares but they have not had them in stock since 2014. Therefore does anyone know where else I could get new contacts? If new contacts are not available can anyone provide advise on how to make contacts from scratch? Many thanks for your assistance. PaulaDoesTrains
The easiest way is probably to use fine nickel-silver wire.
SweenyTod1
Hi, You could try AC Models of Eastleigh, Hampshire. They stock spares from most of the main companies, including Hornby. The nickel silver wire suggestion is a cheaper solution, if you are handy with a soldering iron. Good luck, Tod
Going Spare
Have a look at Peters Spares part PS16 which is a reproduction of the X598 sprung-wire pick-up used on UK-build B12s and others.
