Shorter alternative to Canon EN22 (1833)?

I've nearly completed building an O gauge Kitson 0-6-0T.

Before Christmas I'd ordered the kit manufacturer's recommended ABC Gears 'Mini S' and Canon EN22 (1833) motor, but owing to a backlog of orders this wasn't delivered until recently. I've just found that it doesn't fit!

It's my fault, some changes I've made in the kit build have reduced clearances inside the firebox and the inside of this is now about 4mm too low to allow the motor to fit.

I can see a possibility for mounting the motor at an angle but I'm reluctant to start hacking big holes in the nearly-complete model covered in fine details.

Can anyone recommend an alternative motor that is an easy replacement but a bit shorter?

I don't really need the power of the Canon EN22. The loco will be DCC fitted.

The Canon EN22 has 2mm shaft and the mounting holes are at 15mm pitch, so ideally I'm looking for something that would match those dimensions but would be around 25-28mm long rather than 33mm long.

I've had a bit of a search online but most of the slightly smaller motors seem to have a different pitch for the mounting holes.

Any suggestions welcome!

Loco build thread is here if anyone's interested:

Best Regards,

Mol
