HO scenics for Swiss

For a joint project with another modeller I'm digressing from my usual N gauge.

I'm interested to know what is the cheapest available Swiss outline goods shed or platform.

Similarly who makes accurate Swiss buffer stops

Grateful for any suggestions

I'm not sure that there are typical platforms or goods sheds in Switzerland, just about every station I've been to over there is different, modern stations do have certain common details such as the texture tiles at the edge of the platforms, but often details will depend on where in Switzerland your station is located and what period you are trying to represent, if it's a mainline station in a town, chances are that the platforms will have canopies, but a small station might only have some sort of shelter by the station building itself and those buildings can likewise vary hugely.

If you want modern Swiss your platform will need the automatic ticket validating machines and probably the ticket machines as well, along with the typical train timetables on boards showing arrivals and departures, with modern platforms having been raised in recent years for ease of access for the disabled, older period platforms were frequently little more than tarmacked areas  just about level with the top of the rails which could be recreated as if making a pavement, most stations are kept clean these days certainly since the 1980's but I recall them being slightly grubbier in the 70's as were the trains themselves, don't forget the Swiss Clocks so the passengers can see that all is running exactly on schedule.

"Cheap" and "Swiss" are words not often seen together.  Some specific Swiss buildings are available from specialist manufacturers, but these are expensive, see for example,  https://www.mbapiro.ch   Many generic HO buildings are German outline, although Kibri and Faller have some Swiss models, including some only available, in theory, in Switzerland.  See for example the Faller 190xxx buildings at  https://www.modellbauland.ch/en.   As DGO said, there is no single style, depending on the company, size of station and the materials available -wood, stone, plaster, concrete.  There is an earlier thread on this,

Yes, FALLER made and makes some Swiss kits.

I recently completed a FALLER goods shed as found at Langwies RhB station on the Arosa Bahn. I also have a FALLER kit of the Langwies station on the way from the Netherlands. No telling if I'll ever see that, but we'll see how it goes.

For my n gauge layout I printed my own Swiss buffer stop beams from a photo I took in the yard at Cossonay. I squared up the photo to make it a head-on view. The original is made from 2 big planks of timber, heavily weathered to grey, with grease marks from wagon buffers and the orange roundel with diagonal white bar. I still have the pdf file, which can be printed at a suitable size for any gauge with a bit of trial and error. You’re welcome to experiment with it, just message me if you want the file.

You’d still need to find or make suitable frames or concrete block to fit them on.
