Steam smell candles (from NYMR)

Just seen this announcement. No idea if the smell is accurate but it does give thought to finding a safe way to burn one alongside a steam era MPD layout.

Anyone remember the cans of real steam that became available around 1968/69? I think one place I saw them was at the very last Longmoor Open Day? They were Coke-style cans, supposedly filled with steam from a loco - but I can't verify that! Apparently you had to heat them up to get the steam (and presumably open them first).....

Stockholm tar and sheep foot oil can also smell like coal / steam engine smell. We tried it on CF once, with a vaporising device, but it was a bit lost on most people.
