Looking at a few pictures they tend to be pretty consistent as they seem to be trying to avoid the rivets. A bit like they did with tenders. The picture of 6135 above seems typical. Miss Prism
Late crest placement was a choice between missing the left-hand line of rivets or the right-hand line of rivets (but not both!) RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted April 29, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2022 The blue route avialability spot wandered around a bit as well. Getting back to the OP's original 'well travelled' question, TTBOMK they tended to stay on region though ISTR some were transferred to Stratford for cross-London work for a time. You'd expect to see them on routes such as Reading-Redhill, but they don't seem to have gone that way much if at all. And there were considerable parts of the GW that they were not normally seen on as well, the Cambrian section for example, which is puzzling given that Manors or 43xx were the same width across the cylinders. The Cambrian was largely RA Yellow so RA Blue engines were not allowed (except for the 'Manors' subject, in their case to various restrictions).
