lmsforever
Used to cab N7,s at North Chingford in the fifties lovely powerful locos took us to Liverpool St in twenty minutes in a very comfortable quad art ,The crews were very friendly and often had seven of us in the cab as it runned round a train or went to the carriage sidings .Happy days also watched the line at Sth Benfleet when on holiday for the summer holidays at my aunts also enjoyed bus rides onto Canvey Island .

33C
Not a loco this time but unexpected nonetheless! Bought a copy of L.T.C. Rolt's "Railway Adventure" from a charity shop a couple of years back. Got it down to finally start reading it this afternoon and this fell out.........Bebside Station. Not a postcard, a photo but the reverse is blank unfortunately. A quick google says location Northumberland and closed in 1964. If anyone else has bought books from charity shops but not opened them yet, do it and give 'em a shake! RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted October 17, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 17, 2022 I borrowed a book from the library many years ago, I forget what it was, possible Modellers Guide to the LNER as I borrowed that a lot. Someone had left a bookmark in which appeared to be a test exposure of the Bagnall loco Empress - which happened to be at Mangapps at the time where I volunteered (but named Demelza). Just a shame it was a test as it had varying stripes all over it.

RMweb Premium keefer Posted October 18, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 18, 2022 (edited) Bebside was on the Blyth & Tyne, page at disused-stations: http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/b/bebside/index.shtml EDIT: that web page features your photo too, saying it was c.1910.
