Modelling British Railways Locomotives of the 1990s

My latest bookazine is now out in the shops and available from the Key Publishing website. This takes a break from rolling stock to look at locomotives for the first time, specifically those operating in the 1990s, so begins with BR types and liveries that could be seen at the beginning of the decade along with the liveries that were introduced in the early 1990s, such as Dutch and RES. It then covers the shadow privatisation period including the three regional freight companies before looking at the earliest years of privatisation. For each section, various classes are modelled in 4mm, each of which is supported by detailed prototype notes, photos illustrating suitable stock to run with them and details of model availability in the main scales. Modelling contributions come from James Makin in particular along with Alex Carpenter, Timara Easter, Mark Lambert and Paul Wade. Thanks are also due to Accurascale for providing a Class 92 to be included, which James has worked his magic on.

Just picked up a copy by chance on a rare sortie into Tesco (other supermarkets are available!)  this  evening - what  a lovely surprise!  Haven't been on here for a few days, so missed the initial post on Thursday. It looks really good - and way more fun than what I went in for!!!! 😆 Looking forward to settling down to a proper wade through later on, once the chores are finished.  What a great way to brighten up a Monday...

Best wishes,

Paul
