North Eastern
Does anyone have a close up of any data panels etc on these hoppers that used to run between the Alcan Alumina unloading point at North Blyth to Lynemouth Alcan smelter. I'm getting some hoppers 3D printed in 7mm, so any help would be appreciated. Regards Chris
Mark Saunders
From memory the yellow data panels were still on some in 1982 and probably disappeared at their next repaint and all that was left was a crude PPM panel. The data panel is duplicated on the diagram.
RMweb Gold russ p Posted August 16, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 16, 2022 I hadn't realised these were that modern!, what was the justification for them not being fitted?

It was the nature of the area at the time, fully fitted trains were uncommon and it was decided not to build fitted wagons! It was only in the early 1980’s that fully fitted coal trains to Cambois Power Station started to run! 1
