shortliner
I found this by accident - http://www.nwsl.com/motors-power-drives/stanton-drive - and it should leave plenty of room inside an average shell - it may well do for small industrials too
hollywoodfoundry
Since North West Short Line have been taken over by David and Lynda Rygmyr, they have revived the old PDT (Pretty Darn Tiny) drive from many years ago. The PDT stopped production many years ago when the Japanese Sagami factory was destroyed in the Kobe Earthquake, because it was designed around the Sagami motors. The design is almost identical to the Black Beetle. The new Stanton drive uses newer motors and new features but is essentially the same device.
