D400
I really like the different colours of rust where the ribs would be on the floor. Well observed. Guy Thanks Guy I spotted this on a photo of a Rudd on the SVR and recreated it be running a damp cotton bud through my dry brushed gouache colours - pretty pleased with the effect. I've been trying to get a "used but not filthy" look for a Dapol Silver bullet for some time now and hope I've finally cracked it. This is suppose to represent them during the early years of there use. This evening I turned my attention to a Parkside kit - while since I've built a kit of any description and I've enjoyed building this so far and detailing it using MJT parts. I'm building a Iron Ore tipper in its final use on BR as a ZKV ballast wagon - the first one will be based on this photo here: http://paulbartlett....2b8b7#h39b2b8b7 Lots of goodies I've replaced the rather crude moudled buffers with MJT's 2312S which are a massive improvement as this photo shows - in addition I've also added some patch "repairs" from brass strip. A few hours later... the wagon so far. In addition to the buffers I've replaced the roller bearings and brake shoes with more MJT bits, lamp irons from Shawplan and I'm going to make the brake rigging out of 0.45mm wire. So far rather enjoyable. Bruce
