Lukasz
This is probably extremely simple but I have drawn out my track plan and everything is lovely but I cannot seem to find where I save the file. I can click save as which saves it as an xtrkcad document ready to be opened again in Xtrkcad but I want to save it as a picture or a jpg. photo so that it can be posted on the site. Thanks in advance, Lukasz

RMweb Premium Flying Pig Posted December 29, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 29, 2010 Save as a jpeg (use the filetype chooser) Better saved as .gif or .png - they give cleaner results for the kind of images XTrkCad creates.
shortliner
Saving as a bitmap gives a very poor quality printout - Go to http://download.cnet.com/FastStone-Image-Viewer/3000-2192_4-10324485.html and down load it .This will allow you to grab just the trackplan and save it as a jpeg. A very good and usefull program - I use it to backload XTrkCad plans into PSPX2 so that I can add colouring/lettering/shading etc This is the last free version - there is a newer paid-for version which is relatively inexpensive. locoworks
why not do a print screen or screen capture??
Lukasz
I wanted to have the whole layout plan and I would have had to zoom out and then the plan would just be lines instead of track. would of been a good idea if the layout was a little smaller. Deev
I find taking a screengrab and then joining together with MS paint works pretty well. Dave
