EBay madness

This irks me. There is another advert for this loco, brand new in box for £140, yet this person is trying to get £100 for a broken one. Spares and repairs are suppose to be a bargain opportunity for people with the skills to fix it. This person assumes that this is a easy fix for someone, and so they can pay full on second hand prices, because that will be the value once it is fixed.  Needless to say, I don't see this selling ;-)

The seller says it's in good condition and runs as it should.

How exactly does it do that with one crosshead flailing around?

I think that he means that the rest of it is in good condition.

Also it has only covered 25 linear metres.

Unfortunately, it looks like two or three of those metres were in a downward direction before hitting the ground...

Hard to believe this bargain hasn’t been snapped up yet:

5 people watched it in the last 24 hours, must be very desirable...

I don't fancy your chances of driving over either of those level crossings...

Now this one has been listed for ages now.

Unused…..twice! :D

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275031202007?

I have tried contacting the seller, and pointing out the basic fact….that it’s not all there.

And that was months ago now….:scratchhead:

They seem to have a fixation on 1960…

A lot of other dates quoted are wildly inaccurate, if not totally apocryphal! ;) :D

No, not even close for this one…:scratchhead:

I was going to reply with: "I don't know, but I've got a huge pile of bodies..."

But when I read it back, it just seemed wrong somehow?

For some reason, I ended up with eight old Tri-ang Insulfish van bodies in various liveries and one roof. I can't for the life of me remember where they came from.

No need for power “Set Includes: Electric”

The more you know? “Era 9 - Post privatisation (1995 onwards)”

Never mind that, look at this for a "bargain":

As my kids might say when I'm not around, WTF?

It lies far, far away, - at the end of the rainbow! All you need is a leprechaun with a shovel!

If only I could find the glory hole where these Triang and Hornby roofs (rooves?)  are hidden.  I have long ago lost count of the number of topless Triang and Hornby vans which have arrived here roofless in eBay job lots and to which I fitted roofs (rooves?) made from perspex and secured with superglue.  There must be a good market for 3d printed roofs (rooves?)
