So have I!  I want automatic (hands free) uncoupling so can’t use them everywhere, but within rakes/sets I’m very impressed.  Close are a bit too long for me (I think) but ultra close might be too short so I’m thinking of going down a close/ultra close combination.  Will mean that coaches become ‘directional’ but as they’re all within rakes that shouldn’t be a problem.

He's not one to blow his own euphonium so I'll post this photo courtesy of Mark Forrest @Mark Forrest of his layout at Taunton yesterday. What a cracking job of it @2ManySpams has made. The devils pannier, 4666, in action pulling something Southern.😎 Hopefully I'll get to see it in the flesh on it's next outing.

This is a lovely model railway. Spams has a tremendous eye for colour and the whole scene has a wonderfully cordinated look to it. Nothing jars and it all blends together to make one of the nicest layouts I have seen in a long time. 

 

And I know there are a few tweaks on the way......

 

If it's at an exhibition near you ( and it will be in the future......no doubt) go to see it.

One could claim it's not white, it's platinum grey. It's been special painted for a Platinum Jubilee. 😉

There can't be many named express trains you can prototypical run with 2 coaches and a Bulleid apart from the ACE, you have to love the SR (well I do)

Well I've been experimenting and I'm happy to report that Hunt couplings do work on kit built stock. Here we see 51xx class 4133 on my Comet E147 after modification. I've also done my K40/42 from the same stable , more anon. A good quality CA glue was used to fit the coupling adaptor, VMS Flexy 5K in this case ,which as suggested is flexible in use and not brittle when dried. Using Hunt's has made it possible to fit dangly bits [pipes] from the buffer beam knowing they won't interfere.

A favourite train of mine is the inter-regions parcels and here we see it heading west. Hall class 5998 Trevor Hall does the honours with a mixture of SR PLV, LMS CCT and BG, GWR Fruit D, LNER BG and a GWR K40 in wartime brown.
