That's about as far I got with my my slaters brake van, I might finish mine one day.

Cheers Peter

Yes I must finish it.

One issue I found with it was the plastic was very hard, drillings holes for the hand rails was a nightmare.

I've got to change the wheels for S7 ones now and i'm not sure how much surgery is going to be required for that.....

D, I notice that "Smelly diesel" is missing from the list of tags on your thread.

That'll be cos I started the thread perhaps....

oh and i'm off down the Great Central today with the promise of class; 20, 25, 26 & 27 smelly diesels

Research - honest

I'm looking forward to seeing the visiting green 26.

Nice photos D, but not enough weathering!  Them there diesels really need a good application of the mucky brush.

Unusual too, the use of two different types of concrete sleepers underneath the green and white stripey one in the first shot.  The sleepers have been staggered and if you did that on a model it would just look wrong.

I see someone has started badly weathering those pristine 16 tonners in the background too!  Must need some more volunteers on the G.C.?

All the best, John.

Hi Damian

This is the image of the depot I was trying to re-create - a classic spotters view!

(PS It wouldn't let me embed the image file so it has to be a link?)

David

Dave,

As you've got to the point of making building mock-ups. Do you have dimensions for the buildings?

I've got sizes for the more modern buildings but not the older works buildings.

Damian,

I can't help noticing that the coaling point for young Mr Spams' collection of SR's finest motive power seems to be missing, was this an oversight perchance??? :jester:

They didn't run up there - Ever

Another working day on DitD, but i'm hoping to do some full size sketching later for 'HS's

I have got most of it in autocad and on a few sketchy drawings for the old buildings. I haven't got the loco box but was going to do that from photo's.

Most of the detail is taken from photo 's using the brick counting method where possibles and google earth to cross check.

If this level of inaccuracy is acceptable then I can provide some help?

Just the level of 'inaccuracy' I need!

Autocad - better than my Crayons.....

Great stuff

A quick Google search would appear to result in 100s of images of Southern locos at Inverness. Sadly, due to copyright reasons, I can't post any....

Hi Damian,

Looks like you had a good day out, hard to believe you didn't have any beers though.

Just a guess but Nigel Stanley might do a plough.

Cheers Peter.

Link so I know where to find them again;

http://www.prmrp.com/diesel-kits.html

Why it's under diesel kits I have no idea...

Looks like a decent site for the smelly diesel lover. They seem to do all the main sorts:

Box with noses both ends

Box with flat ends

Box with pointy nose

Cab with long, thin nose...

See, all those lessons on diesel identification weren't wasted on me.

Think you dreamt it.

I didn't tell you all that.

Loco's will come from the JLTRT stable;

They're much more difficult to identify than a a tube with a square at one end, tube nearly always points forward to keep dangerous exhaust gasses away from the crew in the square!
