johndon
I'm a very new user to Templot and have had a track plan created for me as shown in the screenshot below: The problem comes when I try to export the trackplan in diagram mode as an image. As you can see from the image below, pieces of track are missing at the top right - if I export in detail mode all the track appears, as expected. Can anyone tell me what I am missing (apart from the track pieces obviously...) ? Thanks John
RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted November 11, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2013 Hi John, You are not missing anything. Diagram mode output works by filling solid colour between the rails. If you build a complex formation from partial templates which have one of the rails omitted, diagram mode can't work. If you need a neat diagram-mode image, the solution is to add temporarily extra plain track templates across complex formations. I can't see the template details from your small scale screenshot. If you attach your .box file to a post here, I may be able to suggest an alternative way of creating the missing parts of the image. Outputs in detail mode always contain the full template detail, as you found. regards, Martin.
johndon
Thanks for that Martin, much appreciated, I have attached the box file. John south pelaw rotated.box
RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted November 12, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 12, 2013 Hi John, Thanks for posting the Templot .box file. As I explained, you have used partial templates in the missing area, so it is not possible for diagram mode to work there. I'm not too sure why you have done that, as it is usually possible to create a double junction with full templates, and it would seem to be possible to do that there. I will have a go at doing that for you, although it may not be today as I am a bit tied up at present. regards, Martin.
johndon
Hi Martin, Thanks again for your help - I didn't actually create the plan, it was done for me by someone else, despite my best efforts, Templot just hasn't 'clicked' for me yet and I figured with what is, to me at least, quite a complex trackplan, my time was best spent doing other stuff Anything you can do would be most appreciated, there is no hurry. Cheers John
johndon
Hi Martin, Sorry to bother you but I wondered if you ever had a chance to look at this one for me? John
RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted January 21, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 21, 2014 Hi John, Sorry about the long delay in replying -- generally it is better to ask this sort of question on the Templot Club forum: http://85a.co.uk/forum where others are likely to join in. Unfortunately your plan contains quite a lot of errors -- misaligned templates; insufficient turnout stagger on the double junctions, leading to a lack of 6ft way running clearance in places; and the tandem turnout top right has the second switch too close to the first switch, so that it will not be possible to open the switch blade sufficiently. I'm afraid I can't spend time redoing all of it, but I have reworked this area. It was possible to ease the slip subs radius to around 45" rad -- previously you had it below 36" rad which was a bit tight for P4: The modified .box file is attached below. Please note that only the above area has been modified by me, the rest remains as you uploaded it. Also I have not reworked the timbering, so you will need to do some more timber shoving to eliminate new conflicts. If you post all this again on Templot Club, I'm sure we can help you get the whole thing reworked. south_pelaw_modified.box regards, Martin.
johndon
Martin, You are a gentleman, thank you very much for that, I've just been over to join the Templot forum as well. John
