Rail-Online
Hi, Bit of an odd question this but I am building a D&S NER Horsebox built between 1890 and 1911. The kit instructions show 3ft 6" spoked wheels and indeed the photo in the HMRS book shows a (later diagram) horse box with spoked wheels when new around 1915. Question is would these wheels be updated/replaced by the 1930s? I would assume second hand wooden centered Maunsell wheels would be most likely - what does everyone think? micklner
The only way to know would be photos. I havent changed the wheels from as listed by instructions on mine. I doubt they would change to Maunsell, no idea however when they stopped being made.
