Callow Lane factory extension

I've outlined on my blog the construction of a basic (very!) low relief factory structure, using parts of the 'northlight' loco shed kit as a basis. The rest of the factory unit (which was built earlier and also described in an earlier blog) was based around the free Scalescenes warehouse kit -

Oooh, very nice indeed.  I may be being a bit thick with regard to your blog, but I can't seem to see how you did the bits to the right, i.e. the blue wriggly tin shed & the amendment of the roof of the freebie warehouse.  I'm also very impressed with your canopy valance.  As an avid kitbasher/scratchbuilder myself any trade secrets you'd care to give away, please?

Thanks, Captain Kernow, that's very kind.  Particularly like how you've matched the blues - I wondered for a while if you had re-used the Scalescenes door in panels for the shed bit!

No, I just used a pot of a standard Humbrol matt blue, I'll check the number later and post it up.

I've actually carried out some fairly major modifications to the original 'northlight' structure, and removed the gable ends, shortened it and converted it to a flat roofed structure. This is to improve the overall 'look' of that part of the layout, considering that there is a level crossing with a road supposedly disappearing straight into the backscene. I've now built a set of factory gates to go across the road, plus some brick walls that are a bit lower than the main buildings each side, which I think looks better now. I'll get some more photos posted up on a blog update in the next few days.
