Foo
My bank balance is going to shrink. What other coaches will I need to complete the train?
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted December 17, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 17, 2013 The matching "wakers" are not in the catalogue and are unique to these train sets. Mk3b brake open (nominally a BFO but FGW operates the train as all one class), Mk3a open (effectively a TSO) and a Mk3 lounge car with buffet counter. A lot of work would be required to convert standard items.
Foo
. Thought that would be the answer. I'm sure I've seen kits to change standard lima mk3s to the fgw sleeper. Will have to look through my bookmarks
Cornish Triang Paul
It does depend upon how accurate you want to be. Its easy to create or block windows but the finer stuff needs work. The open coaches are TSOD not standard TSO and 2 of the RFMBs have different windows to the other RFMB........ .
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted December 18, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 18, 2013 Then there's the occasional mis-form as dictated by stock availability which has on occasions produced two BFOs or two (subtly different) RFMBs in the same rake at times
Foo
Has it ever had a standard buffet? I got one from argos for a fiver and have held off selling it on evilbay for
RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted December 18, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 18, 2013 Over the years it has occasionally had a Mk1 RMB but more often a Mk2 TSO miniature buffet conversion from the 65xx and 66xx batches. Then there were the sleeper lounges from the 67xx series which were replaced by the current Mk3 vehicles.
