RMweb Premium Chris116 Posted December 28, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 28, 2013 With no District line running west of South Kensington for four days the Piccadilly line is stopping at all District Line stations between Hammersmith and Acton Town. They also going to Ealing Broadway which may be a first. Pilotman working from Eaing Common.
Suzie
They might see the sense in Piccadilly doing the stopping service to Ealing Broadway and using the District to Uxbridge instead via the centre lines.
Xerces Fobe2
This subject has been covered on the District Dave Forum for a few weeks now. I saw a test train of Piccadilly Line Stock in the District Line platforms (there is no longer a connection between the Central and District lines at Ealing Broadway) at the beginning of December XF
RMweb Premium Chris116 Posted December 28, 2013 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 28, 2013 There are NO Piccadilly line platforms at Ealing Broadway. I think you mean Central line platforms. Very unlikely they will run District line trains on the fast lines, too many conflicting movements but running the District to Uxbridge has certainly been discussed. The aim being to have more trains to Heathrow. It may be a High Street Kensington to Uxbridge service from rumours I have heard.
roythebus
Had someone seen common sense many years back, the Heathrow extension would have been built to sub-surface size so that bigger trains could have been used.
