Mod4
Duly moved. It helps us if you use the report button to highlight such requests rather than wait for one of the team to stumble across the thread. Many thanks.
cromptonnut
Not entirely sure what you're referring to - have you got a picture you can link to that gives us a clue? When I search for images the first one that comes up is http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/images/news/topstories/2012/09/04/li-harbour-fence-design-201.jpg which looks quite like the Peco LK741/742 spear fencing. Boscarne
Try having a look at the Brass Stanchions on page 349 of the Squires tool catalogue; http://www.squirestools.com/toolscat.htm Intended for model boatbuilders, but could be suitable? Clive.

Mark 37
Look for ball head stantions in the likes of Model Dockyard, Cornwall model boats and other online model boat suppliers. If I'm on the sites I'll have a look. What height would be needed? I do "00". Mark
Mark 37
Had a wee look. The tallest available so far is 48mm high. If I see anything on my travels ill post here. Mark
Kenton
Could it be fabricated from long split pins (cotter pins) and brass wire.

Mark 37
Ok, found some higher ones here..... http://www.modelslipway.com/ Found in the menu under fittings/lifeboat fittings item 12/4a 72mm white metal 1:12 lifeboat stantions 40p each. Again if I find more, I'll post again. Mark
Mark 37
My only other findings would be here..... http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/robbe-rail-stanchions.html 3 hole 60mm flat stantions. If you wanted to stick to 2 rails(??) just fill holes with some solder and re-drill lower hole at suitable height. Mark
Kenton
Isn't 72mm a little high - as I recall this type of railing you could lean on them. Perhaps it is a good candidate for following the article in the MRJ on etching your own?
Mark 37
You could be right. I did ask for the scale on an earlier post. Mark
Kenton
You could be right. I did ask for the scale on an earlier post. Mark 7mm in the OP but I'm just guessing the actual height of the railings some interesting sites you have flagged up - we seem to forget that there are other modelling parallel hobbies out there (boats, planes, wargames ...) Mark 37
Thanks, so if my thinking along the correct lines (no pun sorry) the OP will be looking for something around 5' =35mm. 34mm brass stantions are available on nearly all the sites I listed. Mark Edit line....5' does seem a little large for two rail stantions but smaller sizes are available.
