KingsCrossSuburban
On Countryfile this Sunday "Jules Hudson learns about the upkeep of the Severn Valley Railway". Cheers,
Tony Davis
Did I miss something? I watched the whole thing but didn't see the SVR.

RMweb Premium Lambton58 Posted February 2, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 2, 2014 I suspect they shelved that bit to make space for the piece on how the flooding is affecting farmers in the Somerset Levels. Fair enough I think. Ralph Lambton58

Fair enough I think. Ralph Lambton58 Very disappointing that the SVR piece was shelved, but I guess that the flooding and its effects on rural communities are quite rightly more important news on Countryfile than trains. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted February 2, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 2, 2014 I usually watch it for the weather news which is usually 15 minutes before the end of the program, this evening it was at the very end of the program.
Robin Brasher
The presenters of Countryfile should have told us that they were not showing the Severn Valley Railway. I kept watching it in case the Severn Valley Railway was on as my local model railway club, the Isle of Purbeck Model Railway Group, has a model of Victoria Bridge on the Severn Valley Railway. I wish I had watched Francesco's Italy on BBC4.
Tony Davis
That would have been a courteous thing to do. I recorded Francesco though. It's a repeat and chances are good that it will be repeated again.

I kept watching it in case the Severn Valley Railway was on as my local model railway club, the Isle of Purbeck Model Railway Group, has a model of Victoria Bridge on the Severn Valley Railway. I wish I had watched Francesco's Italy on BBC4. They did trail the content at the beginning of the programme and the SVR wasn't there. I suspect that getting the Somerset Levels item together as an in depth story rather than as a news item at short notice would have been all hands to the pumps for the production team. RMweb Premium Claude_Dreyfus Posted March 30, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 30, 2014 It was on tonight. Interesting enough, but too short to be particularly informative and more of a recruitment drive than anything else.
