Ben Alder
I have been getting these links appearing in topics today, where some words have been highlighted and hovered on lead to ad links. Any idea how I can disable/remove this please. I'm on XP and Firefox if that helps. Sample attached....
Kenton
Kill the nasty javascript that forces you to see them.
Ben Alder
I do have Javascript disabled as standard, but allow it for here. I've switched it off for the time being to see if that is the problem, but it does make some of the site inaccessible. This problem only started yesterday, and doesn't seem to be occuring on other sites where I allow Javascript, only here apparently.
Kenton
It might - just might be - a separate javascript (not specifically rmweb.co.uk) as you know I also block the whole lot! When checking there are about 10 other sites trying to use my PC for their information (while viewing this page) so cannot help with a specific one for this function. Perhaps Andy could help here. You know my views on the subject and that each addition to the software should come as a on/off user option or be written in alternative and safer code. If it doesn't then it should default to unwanted feature. All it does is clutter up the page.

Ben Alder
Thanks for the suggestions. I have removed mysearch, but it is still showing up once I allowed JS. I'll try a Spybot run to see if it picks up anything.
Ben Alder
To answer my own question, I eventually managed to get rid of it after picking the guy who built the computer originally's brains. It was something called save search, that can appear under its own name, or attached to something else, as it was in this case, and which defied the attentions of Malware and Spybot to find it. The solution was to reset Firefox, and, fingers crossed, this has worked and it seems to have left the system.
