This year we have a feature on diesel and electric modelling in 4mm finescale

We are delighted to present two feature layouts – Diesels in the Duchy, Damian Hurst’s superb portrayal inspired by St Blazey MPD and Calcutta Sidings II, Phil Eames mammoth interpretation of services around Burton on Trent in 1990.  These are supported by Roundtrees Sidings by DEMU NE Area Group and Trevanna Dries by Dave Tailby.  Demonstrations will be provided on flatbottom track construction, conversion of locos and rolling stock with further support provided by DEMU.

Other layouts representing the best of 4mm modelling include:

Brixcombe by Farnham & District MRC

Hookwood by Jim Bryant

Clevedon WC&PR  by Andrew Ullyott

The new Great Barfield by Dave Hawkins

Nottingham Goods by Dave Barrett

Sutton Dock by Tony Gee and Ken Hill

Full trade support, demonstrations and specialist society stands.

Lecture programme, EM and P4 test tracks and members second-hand stand complete the line up.

thanks to the MRJ editorial team for the spread in MRJ.  Hope Indomitable026 likes the pic....

Separately very sad to hear of the passing of Ewen Crosweller this week - he was a long time supporter of expo and regularly did a demostration on track building or soldering or kit building or whatever I was short of....

He will be sadly missed by his many friends in the hobby.....

I believe you are right, however, anyone that pays for entry to the Expo becomes a member of the society for the day.

Whilst the 'Day Membership' comment is correct the Members Sales Lists (that are distributed to members and used for members sales)

Require the owners EMGS membership number to be entered.

So only sales by EMGS members -  but anyone can buy.

Just had the latest newsletter come through yesterday with the details. I thoroughly enjoyed last year which was actually the first exhibition that I went to and I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever met a bunch of chaps more helpful and inviting as the EMGS guys were. If you haven't been before then I suggest you get yourselves down there, an excellent display of models, trade and advice from the demonstrators. Shame I can't attend this year as I will be working on the real railway in Doncaster. I do however, plan on going to Manchester in September. A long journey but I'm sure it'll be work it.

Why not join the EMGS at Expo and enjoy the benefits of the oldest 4mm Finescale specialist society?

If I joined every scale and gauge society of every scale and gauge I model in I wouldn't have enough money left to model! There has to be a line drawn somewhere. I attend EMGS show in Bracknell because it is only a short distance away AND probably more important is always a good show with excellent trade, layouts and atmosphere. Paying more for entry is not a problem.

As a show - 2nd only to RailEx (further but covers everything)

Kenton - pay me £15 (annual subscription of EMGS) and a commission charge and I'll sell them for you!!!!!  :O

This is correct. Members only can sell as we need a membership number on the item and the members sales list.

Pressures on not to disappoint following warm comments above...... thanks guys.

And I have even got the support of the FA this year who very considerately proposed to kick off the Cup Final at 5pm so I only need to find a stand in exhibition manager for the final 30 minutes of Saturday's expo.....

Been a bit hectic over past couple of weeks and not yet sent final instruction to the layout owners etc.  I,m aiming to send out this weekend.
