crompton 33
Help wanted to find Body side grills for a lima/Hornby class 33. In the past i have used A1 Models A2602 Grills. Now they are not listed. Looked at shawplan and Craftman not listed. Plus looking for lazerglass carn't find. Thank 's for any help.
Waveydavey
The A1 grill wasn't very good and IMHO you'd be better sticking with the Lima/Hornby moulded grills. Maybe you could try some Scale Link mesh in a frame of plastic strip if you really want to have see through grills. Shawplan don't currently do Lazerglaze for the Limby 33. You could either try the pack intended for the Heljan version and hope it can be trimmed to fit, try the Wills Finecast vac formed flush glazing or buy some clear plastic sheet and cut each window to fit individually, like we used to do in the olden days. 'CHARD
I don't think there's ever been Laserglaze for the Lima/Railroad 33, only the Heljan machine. A1 Models item A2602 returns no sane results - you may need to turn this request into an appeal for any that a member on here has lying around. Unless there's an equivalent made for Heljan 26 or 27 that could be used?

Waveydavey
Waveydavey. i have used finecast on a few models. But after a time they turn more like smoked glass. I bought a pack once, decided it looked worse than the original glazing on whatever model it was and have never considered it since. It just might have been ok in the 1980s but is well past it's sell by date nowadays. A bit like the Lima 33. Cheers David
