mastanec
They would almost certainly use wooden sleepered points. The reason is that points vary so much in their geometery, so it's easier to build them bespoke for each location by cutting down timbers, you can't cut down concrete sleepers. I didn't realise it extended through, that makes sense then. Thanks! Cheers, Jack But it's no longer connected, I am looking for reference when the track was taken down. Thats exactly the one I'm going to buy, it is a model of Dacice! As Marian says it would be shame to have to cut the building down to get it to fit in, I would like to have the whole station building it's such a great looking structure. Now I need some more wooden sleepered points, anyone want some concrete sleepered ones, they are in the classifieds if you are intrested I have re-drawn your Dacice again si it fits the buildings due to size of those I had to put the track running parallel with the board egde. Station bulding, goods shed and toilets are based on dimensions on manufacturers website. The silo and sheds are there only for reference, I am yet to find out what the silo was for (grain, flour, sugar). I'm going to find out how big it is via maps. squeaky
Thanks Marian, it looks much better than mine now the tracks are parallel. Looks like i'm going to need one these http://www.artol.sk/drobne-stavby/2128-sik-121007.html and one of these http://www.artol.sk/drobne-stavby/1954-sik-111006.html , wow this is getting expensive! Any ideas for the shed on the left as Rob says it's some kind of trolley shed for maintenance of the track, but is there a model available that is similar, i'm not good at scratch building stuff! You are welcome. Most of Czech stations would have paraller tracks, of course there are excetions and in model world we also have to accept some compromise too. Dacice based on 1:1, 500m from switch to switch, measured on map, that is 5.7 m in H0 What you looking for is this: http://www.pojezdy.eu/eshop/h0-specialni-vozidla-lepty/11-h0-muv-69-hekttor.html but since the track towards bottom edge of board is actually some sidings, then the sidings with silo and there was sidings after the station too, there could also be a small diesel shunter T211.0 (700) http://www.pojezdy.eu/eshop/h0-leptane-stavebnice-lokomotiv/1046-h-t211-prasatko-leptana-stavebnice-motorove-lokomotivy-lept-hekttor.html brass etch or resin cast only. or T334.0 (710) http://www.vlacky.biz/railex/eshop/2-1-LOKOMOTIVY/1-2-HO-1-87/5/1-T334 in preparation for production, was made almost 20 in H0 by Vacek. or you can get a complete painted kit but need to source motor, gears and wheels. I was thinking of bullant and making my own parts via some online 3d service because i have some bits of this loco too. http://www.vlacky.biz/railex/eshop/2-1-LOKOMOTIVY/1-2-HO-1-87/5/1316-T334-0090-kompletni-karoserie BR Marian Edited February 23, 2014 by mastanec

squeaky
Marian, I like the look of the T211 do you have any idea of what chassis is required for it http://www.pojezdy.eu/eshop/h0-locomotives-kits/1046-h0-t211-photo-etched-kit-diesel-engine.html Today I have printed the plan in full size, I am in the process of laying it out on the board, I can then try to slant it a couple of degrees. RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted February 24, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 24, 2014 I do like the idea of skewing the track but sometimes it can give you less space. Also with this layout, if you want to make it a through station in the future then is will be harder without adding curves that are not really there. Pavel Gulich in makes etched parts for chassis http://pojezdy.wz.cz/Pojezd_T211.html, but you need to be able to press gears and wheels back on the axis, he does not provide that. 700 is on my plan somewhere in the future, but for my 710 I am considerng eitehr a Bullant chasis, or thinking of getting parts printed in ABS. I'll let you know if I stubmle upon something else. BR Marian
squeaky
So here is the plan laid out on the board, thats slightly slanted a few degrees.

mastanec
I was thinking of 2 degrees in the other direction (which should, arguably, be called 358 degrees) I guess it would fit, but Ian is right there if Squeaky plans to use the station as through, then matching tracks to straight section is going to be easier. It does look impresive and spacious, I remember when I was small, on 2.5 meters I wanted to fit dual track and depot with turntable, where are those years Glad to see you guys going so fast with your projects. squeaky
Not much going on with the layout at the moment as I need to buy more points before track laying can commence. In the meantime I have received a couple of Zimo sound chips from www.artol.sk, one for the CSD 555 steam loco and one for my "Goggles" I'm not quite sure that it sounds right but then I haven't heard the real thing! I couldn't find anywhere to put the speaker so it had to go in the cab, I may have to get the hacksaw out in order to put the speaker in the boiler area. I love the sound of this and it is so easy to install.
Hobby
Hekttor's HO scale Muv69, converted to 760mm gauge (I also have the TT version for my new layout which should be interesting to motorize!): The HO scale Resin T29, also in 760mm gauge! I'm currently building the TT version of Hekttor's kit of this. There is also a plastic model of the shunter, but I don't know who makes it, I have a body somewhere around that I was going to use for the JHMD version before I located the resin and brass kits... RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 7, 2014 That Muv69 looks nice. I have one of those kits to make up when I get chance. it will remain 16.5mm gauge though.
Hobby
They do a motorizing kit for it in 16.5mm, check out the website!
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 7, 2014 Yes I have that aswell and the wagon. Ian
squeaky
I have now cut all the track and laid it out on the board, inserted all the joiners and insulating joiners. I've used a mixture of concrete and wooden sleepered track. The next job is wiring the points for DCC and soldering all the droppers. All the tracks need to be straightened, I'll do that as they get fixed down. I was going to use 1/16 cork as the roadbed but i'm not sure that it needs it? RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 24, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 24, 2014 You are certainly getting on with the layout. One of my boards is being used as a modelling bench for another layout at present! Ian
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted March 25, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 25, 2014 Yes, looking good Squeaky. Coming on just fine. Ian, I know the feeling. Further delays on the building work have meant no progress for me. Rob.
squeaky
I have had to put his layout on hold at the moment as I'm building a US layout for the Freemo meet in July.
squeaky
Right the freemo layout is at the scenery stage now and has been moved to my son's bedroom as originally intended, so I now have my workspace back. I'm going to ditch the baseboard that I was going to use for this as it was 8ft in one peice which is a bit hefty to move around, I'm going to build some new boards and i'm also able to extend it slightly to 9ft. I will make 3 x 3ft boards still by 18". Since the last update I have sold the Steam loco (to Ian) and purchased a 770 Diesel which is waiting for it's sound chip to arrive from Artol. I have also ordered the station building. http://www.artol.sk/drobne-stavby/1954-sik-111006.html So first up is building new boards...........watch this space. RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted August 28, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 28, 2014 555 is currently sitting on Dobris. WHilst I couldnt find any photos of it on the branch it will do for steam specials! Look forward to seeing the new boards and track being laid. That station kit is the same one I have although I will only be using it as a tmeplate for Dobris due to the wall finish being different and some windows being in different positions. Its made out of a very dense card and there is a wealth of bits in the kit so it will make a nice model.
squeaky
Well a parcel arrived yesterday. I now have a couple of buildings to build! I have also fitted the sound chip to this 770. You can hear this loco here
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted September 2, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 2, 2014 How are you finding the NEM couplings? On some locos they droop so I put a bit of canopy glue into the box, insert the coupling then leave the loco upside down until the glue has set. With some wagons and coaches I have found the NEM box to be a little high. Ian
