Fitting Kadee Couplers to a Lima Class 33

Hi all,

I currently in the early stages of upgrading and detailing a Lima Class 33. I managed to remotor it and it's running great.

The next stumbling block i've come across is how to fit Kadee couplers to it. I have a fairly rough idea how, but I was hoping some people might be able to give me some advice on how best to mount the coupler pockets, as it's looking rather tight for space.

Cheers,

Chris

---- forgot to add, this is for a OO Lima Class 33

How much do you want to butcher the loco Chris?

There is the option of fitting a Kadee to the bogie frame with surgery or fitting to the chassis also with surgery.

I have an article & pics on a old hard drive from (I think) an old issue of MRM which I will try to find this evening and post.

Seeing as i'm going to be ordering a Craftsman detailing kit (plus the pull-pull conversion as well, and i've already well and truly butchered the motor housing to get a susumotor in, I don't mind doing quite a bit more too it.

To be honest, by the time i've finished with it, I might as well have bought a Heljan 33, but where's the challenge in that...

Well it's been a few days, and i've managed to get the kadee's fitted, but what a pain in the proverbial it turned out to be.

Basically it's involved butchering both bogie frames to accept some rather cut down coupling pockets. I'll post some photos soon, as the pictures will probably explain better.
