Replacing broken door grab handles on Hornby Maunsells

Recommended Posts

Can't help I'm afraid unless one tries MJT LNER coach grab handles. This is one area where handles shouldn't fall off 'cos they shouldn't be separate when plastic. This is one area where design clever or whatever has worked well for decades.

4A120. I may have to replace a whole side then if one is kaput but the other side is OK.

It's like the roof vents, some of those are missing too. The Hornby ones are exquisite compared to cast ones, so I have a dilemma with those unless Hornby come up trumps and could supply a load of spares (very much doubt that).

I suppose I could sacrifice one coach roof making vents available and then re-vent that single one, or find some scrap coaches with a reasonable roof. The latter could be difficult.
