I had to check their web site to confirm that it is actually 7mm scale (1:43) as I was under the impression that some Australian O Gauge modellers use 1/4 inch/foot (1:48).

In more ways than one this is a huge undertaking for a small company and appears to be their first loco kit - what a way to make an entrance! Also listed are coaches and freight stock all 'to come' and again in partnership with DJH.

There's a break-of-scale between the Australian states for O gauge.

Standard gauge, which generally means New South Wales prototype, is modelled in 7mm.

The Victorian 5'3" and 2'6" is modelled in 1/48, which works out closer to scale on the usual 32mm and 16.5mm track.

In 1/48, Queensland's 3'6" gauge scales out nicely on S gauge track.

Obviously there is a problem here for anyone modelling locations where standard gauge meets broad or narrow.
