Dapol Class 67 hardwiring a chip

Hi folks,

 

 I recently acquired a Dapol Class 67 in a box of bits and discovered that although the loco runs, the lights did not work.  Inspection inside revealed that the PCB had been removed and the motor had been hardwired.  The led boards and plugs are still in place alhough I have yet to test that they actually work. 

 

As this loco was a bit of a bargain, I intend to attempt to fit a Loksound micro and run on DCC and just wondered if anyone else had attempted a similar conversion.  A am aware that others who have fitted sound usually dispense with the PCB to allow a bit more room, but it is the lighting that concerns me at present as I'm not sure which colour wire on the plug relates to which led..can anyone help.
