NeilH
Hi I was hoping that someone maybe able to help me with the following request.. If anyone has details relating to passenger/ parcels trains (formation and stock numbers) at Crewe seen during 1977/8 please would they be kind enough to share it with me ? Any information would be appreciated. I am currently working on a 00 model of Crewe South Junction during this period and this information would help me with modelling the prototype. Thanks and regards Neil.
roythebus
There used to be an 00-silly-o-clock (maybe about 0020) from Rugby to Crewe parcels; it was the first train I worked on BR as a secondman. It was a class 83 and a Southern utility van! Overpowered or what? With 3 men as well...

NeilH
I suspect the Yahoo coaching stock group might have a lot more info... https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/BRCoachingStock/info Thanks - I have used this (excellent) group to gain information on LMR coaching stock formations during 1977/8 and found some useful examples of actual formations. Kind regards Neil.
RMweb Gold stovepipe Posted April 22, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 22, 2014 I posted a TOPS consist for a parcels train at Carlisle from July 1980, here. Okay so it didn't go to Crewe and it's a slightly later period, but it does give a flavour of WCML parcel trains.
