Turin 60
I have a bottle of DL-Limonene solvent some two or three years old now, and well I feel it doesn't produce as strong a joint as it used to. Should I assume all other things being the same (ie material being stuck, method etc) that its age means it has gone "off", past it's "best before" date? Or should I simply stop being tight and buy a new one? Your thoughts would be most welcome. John.
TheWeatheringMan
Hi, I would suggest that as the limonene will oxidise over time - particularly if it has previously been in contact with damp air - that its polystyrene solvent properties have degraded. Perhaps time to by a new solvent. Hope this helps. Regards.
