Zen
Hi I am looking for information on two locomotives that only made it as far as the drawing board, the first is the Franco Crosti BR standard class 5 2-8-0 with Caprotti valve gear I am looking for the book title and ISBN please? The second is the BR standard class 8 2-8-0. I have found images on the web but would like to have a go at scratch building them in o gauge in the near future. Many thanks
billbedford
British Railways Standard Steam Locomotives by Edward Talbot ISBN: 0 86093 158 7 There are drawings of a proposed 2-8-2 Class 9 with a britannia boiler which was a precursor to the 9F, and a proposed class 5 2-6-0 with a Franco Crosti boiler and Caprotti valve gear. Zen
billbedford thank you so very much! that sound like it, the picture that I have seen has a view of said 2-8-2, thank heavens they plugged for the 2-10-0, it just would not be the same without the good old 9F don't you think? Zen
I have a copy on order and cannot wait to see the drawings. I am a bit of a fan of the BR Standard Classes and the early BR Crest.
