piranha230
Hi, I am looking to find the correct type of corridor connections to use for some ac emu kits, does anybody know who can supply the correct type like in the photo attached. They don't have the big curved section at the top like a standard mk1 corridor connection has.
RMweb Premium CloggyDog Posted June 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 7, 2014 Looks like a Pullman gangway and rubbing plate, MJT?? Or mod a Mk1 gangway? I'd have thought the 309 Clacton sets may have had standard Mk1 gangways, not least the converted Mk1 trailers inserted into some sets later in life. RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted June 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 7, 2014 From memory the suburban sets when refurbished had what looked like a Mk2 coach type gangway connector. AM9s were always Mk1 type.
pwr
Southern Pride maybe? Paul R
45125
They are more or less standard Mk1 gangways, they have just a some plating added to the side of the face plate and to the rear section, this plating covers up the bellows.
piranha230
Thanks guys for your information, I think the southern pride cig-vep corridor connections look close enough.

Xerces Fobe2
Mr Petty from DC Kits might be able to assist! XF
Pete Harvey
Potentially Paul But it would not be cheap. Once the 4mm cabs have been sorted I will look at 7mm. Pete
pwr
Potentially Paul But it would not be cheap. Once the 4mm cabs have been sorted I will look at 7mm. Pete Using the cabs with some Easybuild coaches would be a great start. Quite a bit if cut and shut but it would work Paul R
Pete Harvey
I have been told that Worsley Works produce accurate etched 4mm brass sides for the 309 though there is a lacking of detail apparently. Pete
Intercity 125
Potentially Paul But it would not be cheap. Once the 4mm cabs have been sorted I will look at 7mm. Pete How much do you anticipate they will cost in 4mm scale? I'm very interested by the 309s. Cheers.

RMweb Gold Adam1701D Posted July 24, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 24, 2014 Those look stunning - these will go really well with my new range of 309 vinyls in 4mm.
RMweb Premium MrSimon Posted July 25, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 25, 2014 Hi Pete, don't suppose they'll shrink to N will they? Cheers Simon
Pete Harvey
They may be able to but I don't know what the percentage difference is from 00 to N and I could not guarantee what quality they would be. Pete
Penrhos1920
Are you planning the original curved window version?
Pete Harvey
To be honest the original version the first one I have tried but I have run into a few detail problems, so I have put that version on hold until I can sort out the problems. Pete
RMweb Premium MrSimon Posted July 26, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 26, 2014 I think in N I'd forgive any missing details (that I could add/make myself, like cables, handrails, lamp irons, etc...) if it meant a pair (or two) of properly shaped cabs - its been the only thing putting me off making a Worsley 309. Cheers Simon
Pete Harvey
I had some test prints through today after a little Ultrasonic wash & brush up this is how they look. A light sand and a good coat of etching primer and these will marry up to a Bachman Mk1 nicely. If I decide to have them resin cast the pipes may have to be removed but I will decide on that later. No release date yet but I will let you know when they are ready. Pete
