RMweb Premium keefer Posted May 2, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 2, 2015 Don't know if it's been mentioned, but I notice theres a cl.325 EMU in several of the shots of 66s. Is this in use hereabouts or was it just stored/stabled for some reason?

Is this in use hereabouts or was it just stored/stabled for some reason? I assume it must be in use as it appears pretty much every week for a day or so, goes and then comes back the next week. John I think it might stable there when not in use for services from the Royal Mail depot at nearby Low Fell.
Waveydavey
There is a nightly service from Low Fell, presumably to London. The 325 heads out after dark and is back in Tyne before daylight.

Alcanman
Great pics John. Glad you've returned to Tyne Yard. I decided to pay a visit this morning to try out my new telephoto zoom lens. Took loads of pics, the 300mm lens perfect for TY. Then, to my horror, I discovered I'd forgotten to insert the SD Card! My first sighting of Colas 56s,they look great, and nice to see yard shunter 08752 returned to TY. Mal

johndon
Great pics again John. The Tyne Yard pics have inspired me to start planning a new layout. Not too far away - Tees Yard! Mal I saw your layout thread yesterday - I remember the article in Rail Express and, if I'd not already started the layout, I would have used the track plan from Tees Yard. johndon
A chance stop at Tyne Yard on the way to a meeting this morning, produced the usual suspects: 66069: 56087: and, to my complete surprise, this beauty: and with the Network Rail Measurement Train passing: 67003 gets in the way: While I was there 60009 headed off tender first towards Newcastle. I stopped off again on the way home and she was back having turned round, I assume at the triangle at the end of the King Edward Bridge: John
