RMweb Gold Brinkly Posted June 15, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 15, 2014 Greetings chaps, I'm currently sorting through some of my late grandfather's model railway items and really could do with some help. First up, when was the approximate release date of the Roxey detailing kit for the Triang/Hornby SR luggage van? Second, when was the approximate release date for the Roxey Maunsell corridor stock? (Currently produced by Hornby.) The reason I ask is I'm trying to work out when he started building things, really to satisfy my own curiosity. I've asked my parents, but neither of them 'model' so the reply tends to be, 'Oh when you were little.' which isn't the best answer! Many thanks in advance, I'm sure I will be asking similar questions relating to David Geen products soon! Kind regards, Nick.
naugytrax
Nick, the instruction sheet for the "Roxey 4A250 Conversion Kit for Triang R2126 S.R. Utility Van" in my to-do pile is dated 1988. So the kit is at least that old. Can't help with Roxey Maunsells, though.
RJS1977
Why not email Roxey Mouldings and ask them? They still advertise in RM.

RMweb Gold Brinkly Posted June 17, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 17, 2014 Thanks gents for all your replies. My next port of call was going to email RM, but my theory is correct that I would have been about 4 (in 1990) when Grandpa started building them. I thought that they were the best part of 25 years old, but wasn't sure and memory can play tricks on you, even as a 'little un!' Many thanks for you help gents. Regards, Nick.
